"Maus I: My Father Bleeds History"

The other day, i went to the supermar-ket that opened recently near by. I saw the Top 10 books, and interested in a book called "Nineteen Minutes", but, of course, in Portugal, the one i saw was the Portuguese version. I interested myself right away in the book, and also in another one called "Sete Selos"(if I'm wrong at the name, I'm sorry, but i only had time to look a little at the cover, because i had to hurry up).

When i got home, i really did want to read a book, but all the ones that i liked to read, i already red 5 times, at least.

I looked for something interesting, and passed by 2 of my brother's old comic books. The 2 chapters of "Maus", by Art Spielgelman...

I already saw those books when I was a little girl, but i didn't like them because of so much black and white.
I gave it a chance, and started to read... If my brother liked them at the point to by the second chapter to, what could I loose?
The story is relay interesting, and I'm not sure about this being based on true facts or not, but it is isn't it?! And i am asking this because of the way that the book is so well composed! Everything is well "inspected", because the details are perfect!!!
This is the best way to learn about the Holocaust, and at the same time "the first masterpiece in comic book history" ("The New Yorker").
I haven't red all of it, but I'm on the fifth chapter already, and i only started reading it 2 days ago... And I've only red it at night time, in bed, because i have a very busy student life...
I recommend this book to the curious people out there, that love books like I do. This is not a story for soft people. This book isn't very violent or anything like that, but the facts are... And the part that most terrorized me, was at chapter 5, page 108, when it shows what the Nazi's did to some of the children that where frightened to death...
It shows how cruel the Nazi's where...
People screaming, crying, and even KILLING THEMSELVES, appears in this comic book...
At the start of the book, there is a phrase to show people about Hitler's idea...
"The Jews are undoubtedly a race, but they are not human." - Adolf Hitler

Thank you for reading... I will wright about "Maus II: And here my troubles began" soon...
